I think everyone got home finally

Post by Uncle Larry »

Simo and Windy went the farthest but we all had gobs of fun. I will kick Pam in the BUTT and make her post some of the thousands of pictures she took. 22168 miles with trailer and 691 miles in T. Over $1,000 gas money. Made room resv for Sept at Artesia. Take care everyone.

Larry I thought you was either getting some great gas mileage or had a major discount card. :D
Been there, done that, hope to live long enough to do it all again.

Hey Big Bill the truck pulling the trailer (Chev 3/4 ton gas 6.0 V8) averaged 9.1 MPG. Seemed like it was all uphill both ways! Some of the guys with the Motorhomes were way worse than that. Most disappointing part of the trip was going across the new super high bridge at Hoover Dam. You couldn't see any thing on either side because of the high concrete walls on the sides of the driving lanes. I guess so no one would get scared. Lake Mead is very very very low on water. Now the best thing about the trip was everything!!!!!!!!!!! Yosemite was great, Carson City was great, Virginia City was great, Summit Racing was great, Lake Tahoe was incredible, Poker run was super,Cruising the Strip at Las Vegas at night was cool. hanging out with the T-Bkt family again was fabulous, having to come home sucked. Can't wait till next time :D

Larry I was talking about the miss print on the miles traveled but seriously pulling your trailer in that part of the country that doesn't sound to far out of line. that 6.0 is a nice motor but it is a little thirsty on level ground in my experience. Now as far as the trip goes and how great it was I don't want to hear about it since I couldn't be there. :D :D :D :D I wish I could have been there, maybe next year, they are supposed to operate on Diana's foot the 22 of this month hopefully they can save it and she will be able to walk again. They say it is broken like a person who fell off a 3 story roof and landed on their heal. They are going to take part of the hip bone and build a new heel. I hope I don't have to sell my toys to pay for it.
