Decided to freshen up my new tow rig in preparation for the 2020 season. Ordered some replacement parts and laid them out on the kitchen table when they arrived. Wifey told me to get that stuff off of the table. She reminded me that I have been married for 8 years and that I should know better. I don't get it! All of the parts are new. What am I missing?

I've been married 38 years, and I still don't get it. My wife can watch me take a spankin' new mousetrap out of the plastic wrapper, but heaven help me if I set "that nasty thing" on her kitchen counter. It's not like they field test them at the factory. Now, a used one I can understand.
