Imagine....if you will,
How ACTIVE this site would be if that dern Farce Book forum wasn't available!!! This site at one time was hot to trot!!!! Sad thing is that the "most users on this site on ONE given day was 11 people and guess when that was, WITHOUT looking below???? Give up? The date was "2012"!!!!
I wonder how many of those folks on Farce Book realize that there is an actual OFFICIAL NATIONAL T-BUCKET ALLIANCE website?????
Heck if this site here that WE, as an organization pay, I dunno...I think it's over $1000 a year, if we as a GROUP began participating on it again, imagine the conversations that could be taking place. At ONE time this was an exciting venue and VERY informative. Sure there are "specific" pages on here for folks to look up, but take some time and loo at the dates that people have actually logged on. Heck there really is only ONE MEMBER THAT LIVES ON THIS WEBSITE...THAT IS SPANKY! The only other member I see is Mark (RB Welder). Not that anyone would care, but if this website was more active, I'd come back on, but my bucket is built and I really have no further questions regarding it, but I WOULD assist anyone else with their build if I could. I don't claim to know a ton about these cars, but if I don't have the answer, I would refer them to the correct person.
So what say you turn coats who are monopolizing the Farce Book forum....how about COMING BACK HOME???

Re: Curious...regarding who is online
RoBots or also called Bots (for short) are pieces of software that crawls websites collecting data so that search engines like Google can provide an answer when you do a search. Every search engine has their own bots crawling the internet. It's up to the websites to make it easy for them to do their job, which then makes your website at the top on the first page if you are doing the best job. There is a term for it, it called "Search Engine Optimization", but it's usually just abbreviated as "SEO". It's the key to getting traffic coming to your website.
For some reason the only bot I've ever seen on the NTBA site is the Bing bot, but if you look at other websites like the TBucketeer they have lots of bots crawling their site, although it does not name them. See last graphic.
All those GUESTS are people that found something on a searching engine provided by a bot ! THOSE ARE POSSIBLE MEMBERS !
I grabbed the two screen shots below just 2 minutes apart tonight .....
NTBA
Registered Users: 3 (Including 1 bot)
Guests: Doesn't Say, But it possible
Bots: They are registered, shown above as 1
TBucketeer
Registered or Members: 2
Guests: 89
robots: 14
. . .
As you can see from the next graphic I grabbed tonight how many bots can be crawling a website and the search engine they are associated with.

Re: Curious...regarding who is online
Luggy,
I stick around on this site hoping that most people will come to understand how dangerous fb is, and return here. Hard for me to believe that people post on fb that they will be traveling for two week beginning xx/xx/xx! Talk about an open invitation for robbery! fb seems like a good place to loose life long friends! The NTBA discussions on fb is the only reason that I am on fb. With fb claiming ownership of my posts, I have deleted all but my last few posts.
Bill and I have spoken that if we can post interesting content here, they will come. I constantly push this site to the members of the Carolina T's and to use the Carolina T's forum, here for discussions! The biggest laugh I get is when someone tells me that they are members of the NTBA because they belong to the NTBA group on fb!
Our leadership has promised to post things on this site first and then fb. That does not always happen, which is disappointing. My sense is that fb should be used as a tool to point people here period! Make is so only the officers can post on fb with links to this site! No discussions on fb. Have the discussions here!
fb has future plans to charge users. I wonder if that will be the lynch pin to have the flock return here?
People complain that it is hard to post pictures here. That is only partly true. Could it be easier? Sure! However, until we migrate to a different website software, this is what we have. Several members have posted various ways to post pictures to this site. If members would simply print these instructions, I do not think it would be as big of an issue.
Sunday morning rant over! This is just my opinion and I may be wrong!

Thank You Mark!
I'm afraid the short answer is that people don't come to the NTBA website basically because it is not FB. They do everything else on FB so it's just a continuation. I honestly don't believe it is because there is something inherently wrong with the website. Like you said, could it be tweaked, sure, but I don't think that's the main issue.

Re: Curious...regarding who is online
Jan,
Isn't there something you can do so that we get more bots crawling the NTBA website ???
You are getting 14 bots on your other website TBucketeers that you own!
What are we doing for SEO so that possible members can find us ?
