Hey Chief-T, need some directions!!

Jim, Ann and I are trying to figure out the best way to get to Bossier City from Kansas City. How do you and Mary go when you come to Springfield?

Hey Lee, I had good luck going South down 65 cutting around Little Rock to Interstate 30. Turn off in Hope down Ark. 29 which turns into LA 3 and takes you all the way in. This was the Jay recommended route for me. Per Jay 71 is curvy and rough through Arkansas.

Have fun down there, I have every year I went. This year I'm trying to do Chrome Dome's run instead.

MapQuest sez the shortest route is I-49/US-71 through Joplin, Fayetteville, Ft. Smith and Texarkana. We like the scenic routes. Are we going to hear banjo music and pigs squealing if we go 71 through the Arkansas hill country?

Hey Lee, Sorry for the late answer. We were in Fredericksburg, Tx last week to see the bluebonnets and loaf. Anyhow, from Springfield, Mo, I take hwy 65 to I-40. Then I-430 around Little Rock to I-30. I-30 to Texarkana, then 245 around east side of Texarkana to 549. 549 then becomes hwy 71 at the state line. 71 into Shreveport and onto I-20 east. Cross the Red River and immediately take the Traffic street exit. Turn rt on Traffic, go under I-20 and Boomtown is on your rt. Can't miss it. Hwy 65 has a lot of curves and hills but enough passing zones and four lane to make decent time. If you'll call me when you get near town, we'll meet you and guide you thru town. I'll PM numbers. What day are ya'll coming??

Jim, we're coming down Friday... hope to be on the road by 0700. Looks like I-49/71 all the way. Hope to be at Boomtown (where we're staying) by supper time.

Primary cruise will be Sat after show is over. Approx 45 miles over south Bossier Parish country roads to a seafood/bbq restaurant in Bossier City. For those here on Fri evening, I have several routes around town we can do winding up at Baskin-Robbins or Cold Stone.
