Powered Jack For Your Enclosed/Open Trailers

Good morning!!! And what a fine morning it is compared with yesterday. Yesterday up here in da tundra was brutal cold, today it's like Spring.

Anyway, I'm NOT here to discuss the weather, but I am here to discuss trailer jacks. Given where we live, the sardine can along with my low-boy trailers, set just off the side of the road, albeit under a very BRIGHT led driveway light, but that never seems to deter criminals. We've never had an issue ....yet.

So I found a product that I purchased the past summer. I did thorough research and found it fit my needs and bought it. The jack can be raised or lowered by means of two ways: with "removeable" hand crank or with a half inch drill. The neat thing about this jack, the hand crank IS removeable; the optional (which I highly recommend) bit, for lack of correct word, fits onto the nub of the jack, then you use the bit in your drill to raise or lower the jack stanchion.

Along with this jack, I also have a coupler lock. For rear doors I utilize twin Master pancake locks. I have yet to have any issues with anyone attempting to steal the trailer while it is sitting out back by my shop or at a hotel. Also have a KILL switch on my truck that is hidden, so wanna be thieves cannot fire up the truck and take it along with trailer.

I like their "Remote Controlled Trailer Movers" for moving the trailer around! A bit pricey, but what isn't?

BTW to secure my trailer, I sprung for a Proven Trailer lock. Again, pricey, but I know that I have had some late night visitors checking out my trailer and my trailer is still where I left it.

Wow...they aren't giving those away are they? LOL!!! The prices we pay for security. The lock set I have for the ramp door are called PUCK locks. I'd try try yo post a photo, but NOT being computer literate I have no clue how. And no, I do not require help. If you are interested in getting SECURE locks for your ramp door, just google Master puck locks.

The sardine can is non descriptive, no one would ever know, that there is a $40k hot rod within the confines of said trailer, unless those curious were near by when the door are open. My trailer does NOT appear to be a car hauler because of its size.

While I realize it is up to the owner's discretion, in MY opinion, one is just asking for trouble displaying on the side or rear of trailer what resides inside, but as I stated, this is MY opinion. Period. NOT open for discussion.

All the sardine can is going to be utilized for from here on out is winter storage. The bucket will no longer be traveling out of state.

Good points Luggy!

My insurance man urged me to put no markings on the outside of the trailer for security. I figured that if I put anything on the trailer, it would be something like "Mark's Septic Tank Cleaning"!

I, also, use puck locks on the ramp door!

Well for one, I am proud to have the Official NTBA sticker on the back door of my trailer It is 24 box plus the V plus the tongue.

I use padlocks and have good Insurance on both just in case there are thieves or weather or accidents,. Along with my 2 best friends-- S&W.
