Post by Jgard »

What are you using for the glass for your windshield? Automotive glass a type of plexi glass or what?

Thanks

State of Iowa requires automotive safety glass, and the DOT inspector does look for the "bug", (the printed data in the glass), when he inspects your build for titling purposes.
The glass for my windshield set me back $130, installed.

I'm using 3/4 inch Lexan without any frame or suppoprts, it's 19 inches tall. I've had it to
108 mph without a problem. I did take the trouble to fit the windshield post like a glove to
the body to spread the forces out. Another advantage is mounting mirrors, they can go
anywhere you like.
