carburators of choice?

WOW i know this is opinions but that is what im looking for, i want a street driveable car, i want to be able to get in and crank it up and go where ever i want, im not a mechanic, i dont want to have to keep adjusting or changing jets. now with that said, when i buy my crate motor, which would be your carb of choice? Holly or Edelbrock? i have heard people say holly's are great for racing but edelbrock are better for street? im looking for opinions from people who are on the street with same type of engines and cars, i hope to hear from you guys soon

If you want to drive it, Edelbrock. If you want to sit in your driveway tuning Holley. Had my T for 13 years, never touched the carbs once. I don't think you need a 383 strocker either to have fun on the street. I had a bone stock 350 with an 671 blower under driven 12%. A blast to drive. 90% show - 10% go. Could squak the tires at will.

I'm an Edelbrock fan, as well. I'm running two 650s on a 6-71 blown 350 small block. All I did to them to run them on the blower was richen them up per Edelbrock's carb manual. Dirt simple to work on, as tunable as Holleys if you read the manual, very reliable carbs for the street. You do need a good fuel filter, though, as they are a little sensitive to particles in the fuel. Only two problems I've had with the Edels since 2006 were caused by tiny metal shards... one stuck in a float valve and one stuck between a needle and jet. Went to a cannister-type paper filter and no worries since.

wow i have allways wanted a blower motor, but have been afraid that they wouldnt be as dependable? i am open for opinions on this as well. as i mentioned im not a mechanic, i want something i can put in the car and just drive with a lot of power. thanks

I've run carbs all my life. Some good and some bad, but not any of them great. I now run "Powerjection 3" bought from Speedway. This IS the ONLY EFI that will work with a blower. Trust me I've talked to ALL EFI people who sell aftermarket units. Now they are copping Powerjection 3 product. I get great milage and super performance with it. Very simple to work, follow directions and its just super. It cost about 1650.00, yep y'all think its outa site, no it comes as a COMPLETE KIT ready to install. If you add up all the cost of carbs, electric fuel pump, fuel regulator, fuel lines at carb location, and good filter system you'll almost be there, (very close) and still NOT have the benefit of EFI with super performance. simple stuff from a simple guy

P.S. you can change all the set up with out tearing anything down, just a lap top, which I borrowed from a friend. don't own a laptop. Starts any time cold or hot. Unit looks like a holly carb on outside, but has EFI inside. 4 wires, fuel in/out, water heat censer, o2 censer on collector (only one) and GO GAS. Everything needed is in complete kit.
