Folding Top cont'd... why wouldn't this work?

Lee I made my first top to be removable with easy pull pins/bolts at the front and once it was there I never removed it so the next three can be removed, but I think once you & Ann have a top it will just be there............My .02...........Enjoy it.......

Mike, most of the people that I've talked to who have/had foldable tops have said the same thing... they may have folded it once or twice but have left it up ever since. I'll have to consult with the boss... she was hoping to have it foldable.

I would make the back window that was large & be able to open. It gets hot & noisy in there with the top up. I think with the back open you would eliminate both.

No, I looked all over the page. I also noticed smilies are turned off and the post counter next to my avatar shows zero. Does it look the same at your end - the quoted text shows the HTML "quote" commands before and after, printed on the page? There's also the command for an inline image, but it doesn't show up. Maybe something is wrong with my logon account?

A couple of questions about the CCR Top frame (I prefer the look of the CCR frame versus the frame with the hump, in the initial post):

1- Is the frame different for a standard body versus a stretched body?

2- Do the CCR plans include the top frame dimensions?

3-Does anyone have a copy of the CCR Top frame dimensions that they could post?

I am thinking that a foldable top frame could be made using conduit, or aluminum pipe and plugs (I will check the West Marine catalog for the plugs.) The top could be disassembled and rolled up in the cloth top.

jack, looking at the picture of the latch. i'll assume the "J" bracket is what mounts on the top windshield cross member.
but what are u going to use for the top support ?? tubing ?? if so how are u going to attach the tubing to that clamp?

I looked on the CCR website and they list 2 part numbers for the top frame. I have their top frame for a standard
body and can measure it if you would like me to.
