5/16" is close to 8mm metric, and most holes will accept both, they're that close.

I didn't use the Dak alternator as I initially planned, due to it being externally regulated. Did find one off of a '90 Toyota Corolla with A/C. Rated at 65 amps. Got a single groove pulley and one-wire regulator for it from "TrioDiode" on Ebay, and had to fab up the mount and adjuster point. Worked out quite nicely.

You can see the adjuster mount point sticking up there above the water pump in that second photo. I'm going to have to extend it either up, or to the left, as my window of adjustment is rather narrow the way it is, and you never know what you might be able to get for a belt out on the road.
