Folding Top

I'm finally getting around to arranging for my interior to be done. Been driving around with a "temporary" seat for six years! I would also like to do a folding top... the kind that can be folded down at the back of the seat when out on the road. I know several of our folks have folding tops. Anyone have any plans or could do a schematic drawing of how theirs works?

Luggy had one in the tech pages, at one time. However, the last time I went to look for the article, it was gone!

Al designed one that worked pretty good. I have a version on my car. He could probably describe it to you well enough you could understand, but I don't think he ever did any sketches.

Unless I looked at the wrong file, the one by Lead foot does not fold.

SOMEONE....yanked my article and instructions on how to make a folding top from the tech pages. I know it wasn't me. So I said to them, well.....on further note, you don't want to know what I said. I basically said screw it...well sort of. They removed it so the hell with them.

To this day I vaguely recall how to make a top fold...however I have something else up my sleeve which "I think" will work better and yes it WILL fold. Ta ta.

I posted pictures and a little article on how I made mine a few years back but I would imagine it got lost in the shuffle over the years. I'll try to put something together in the next few days and post it here again.

I bet I got Lugnut's plans at home in a file cabinet I can't get to right now (if that helps). I had a top on for a while, took it off, found it restricted my view too much.

Maybe this weekend Lee. I really need to get to that corner of the basement for a number of things, including a file drawer full of t bucket "stuff" back there, all my receipts, plans, etc. We're installing laminate floors in the house and moving stuff around, plus just got new living room furniture, so it's kind of a problem right now. We'll see how the weekend goes, got two more rooms to do laminate in.
