Wire Routing

I posted this question before and did not get any detailed answers. So I thought that while things appear pretty quiet, I would post this question again.

How are wires routed through the body/chassis, when wiring a T-bucket? I know how the circuits go. I am interested in such things as:

- When goings from a fuse box (under the seat), do you route under the carpet or under the body?
- When going from fuse box to engine compartment/front lights, where do you exit the body?
- When going from fuse box to rear lights/gas tank, where do you exit the body, behind the seat or under the body?
-Etc.

I appreciate you help, even it takes a ciruit by circuit description of the routing.

On my bucket the wires leave the fuse box, under the seat and exit a hole at the bottom edge of the seat riser, right next to the inside of the body (there are holes on both the left and right sides of the seat riser). All the wires going "forward" towards the engine and head/signal lites exit on the left side. They then run allong side the body. on the floor under the carpet forward to the firewall. Right at the junction of the firewall, the body side and the floor board there is a hole about 1 inch in dia. in the floorboard. The forward wires pass through this hole and on to the various components in the engine area.

All wires for the instrument panel and the starter circuit exit a hole in the right side of the seat riser and are routed in the same manner - along the floor board, next to the body side. Only the starter circuit wires pass thru a hole in the floor board, the instrument panel wires run up the corner of the junction of the firewall and the body passenger side to the panel and then on to their respective meter,switch, led (turn signal indicators)etc.

All wires going to the back of the car (tail / brake lights, license plate light, fuel gage sender, fuel pump etc) pass thru a hole in the floorboard right next to the fuse box and are routed under the body.

Where the wires run forward, on the floor, I have made a "conduit" out of a piece of PVC pipe that I cut in half and fasten to the floorboard with some brackets that I found at the hardware store. The carpet sits on top of the PVC and is not noticeable unless you really look for it!

DO NOT wire the circuits using only one wire color!!!!!!! There is a standard color system available somewhere but I made up my own scheme.

All wires within the body area of my T run in a channel under the carpet in my car. The wires for the dash came down the right side and is housed in wire loom tucked into the corner. ALL wires that go from the inside of the body to the frame, engine, lights, and fan have weatherproof plugs just outside the bottom of the body, on the right and left, so we can just unplug them to remove the body from the chassis. I have been known to be in need of repair a few times . Wires to my tail and headlights were run through the frame rails so they are not exposed. We have done pretty much the same thing on the car my son in law is building.

Nice wiring diagram in Hot rod , this issue with the t-bucket build, but I dodn't think there was any routing.....

We always have the electrics under the dash, no problem of drowning the system when driving in hours of rain.
All wiring inside goes to the passenger side of the firewall where a conduit takes it down and out through the floor to feed the systems front and back.

i pretty much did the same as the others above with the run of wiring. when i built mine i put in 2 layers of 1/2" plywood on the inside of firewall to fasten, gas peddle, fuse box, etc. this allowed enough material to screw to without going out of the firewall to engine side.. ugly.. i also put in 3 connectors when the wires came from inside to outside towards the front wiring.. these connectors for IF i every wanted to pull the body to repaint (green) its a plug and play. i used plugs for trailer, 3 wire and 4 wire without having any problems. yes some of the wires are small for the current but i tied 2 or 3 of the wires together on one of the plugs. this way the current will split.
needless to say i keep my senses and didn't paint it green.. RED is a uneek color.
