Aluminum heads

Generally speaking, will an engine run cooler or warmer with Aluminum heads? I realize there are a lot of factors here, but...

I am restoring and modifying my old GMC and I am going to get a box motor.

Our alum. heads ran cooler because they dissipated the heat quicker on the dirt late model BUT those heads & Blocks were throw away(meaning that they were rebuilt about every 3 races). That is why you have sleeves in the cyls.
If you have a machine shop, no big deal. You just knurl the chambers, machine them to your specs, & replace the sleeves in the cyls. Oh yeah, I forgot that when the heads get hot, they tend to pull the studs out.
As you can see by what I said, they're REAL good for racing but, I wouldn't use one for cruzin. IMHO. DPI
