Aluminum radiators?

Will something like this from Speedway: http://www.speedwaymotors.com/1917-1923 ... ,1829.html cool my 400 c.i. sbc? These old 400's ran hot anyways because they have siamesed cylinders. I ran a Walker Cobra Z radiator that I had recored for more cooling capacity, but would like to go aluminum with this rebuild.

Also, my 400 is no longer a 400. It's been bored and hot rodded to maybe 375 hp, or at the most 400 hp. Still running stock heads and all, Edlebrock 600 cfm carb, and of course headers.

Any suggestions welcomed!

Frank, we are running a 3 row aluminum radiator with no issues. There are a couple of companies on the internet where you can pick them up for less money. Cuz bought one and the quality looks to be okay but not road tested yet..... Radiators and brakes are two areas that I prefer to know the quality of what I am getting up front . Keep it cool and make sure it stops . Good luck brother.

229 doesn't look too bad if it will do the job Rolla. It's a lot cheaper than a Walker too, even though the one I have is fine. One of the advantages of lengthening my frame is I can get a custom shroud and fan set up. That was simply impossible before.

hi frank, a friend of mine here in louisiana has the exact same radiator, he is almost finished with his build, he is running a beefed up 355, i also have the same radiator but i wont b much help yet, LOL mines still in the box, will be trying to cool a 383 crate motor. i checked with a man from pep boys yesterday about a product, he said it works, he runs it in his race car, its a red liquid you put in the coolant, suppose to cool it up to 20degrees cooler, he says his runs about 15 cooler since he put it in. with this radiator it is only 17"s and im running a manual fan and had to get a 15" fan. i will probably get a chrome shroud, people tell me it will help. sooooooo if you get yours in first(which it looks like u might) let us know, thanks, isaac

ha frank, i got my new rad for the fairlane and for the bucket from champion rad's.

if i recall right both the bucket and fairlane rad's were like $205 bucks. they come with a lifetime warranty . they are 3 core welded.
both came polished and the one for the bucket was so nice i sold the fiberglass rad cover..
there are ton of folks selling champion but only this address IS the manuf and u can get it from them.
just looked and there is a 4 core alum for $297 on ebay.

Isaac, I am at the very least two if not 3 years away from having mine back on the road. But as any old timers here will tell you, you can depend on my reporting as I go!

Bill I spent some time on that ebay store and I'll be darned if I can find something for a t bucket, 1923 Ford or whatever. You wouldn't still have the part # for the one you got for the 23t would ya?

Radiator is a bit off. Got my jag hub re-assembled, I think I'm gonna try that Hardnose Paint on it over the weekend (even though it cures with humidity, which we don't have much of right now), and I got a master welder coming over a week from Saturday to give me an estimate on stretching the chassis, welding some new radius rod tabs on, and making me a new drag link. That's where my cash is going in the short term, probably $300-400.
