turbo 400

hi everyone
looking at my tranny from my old chevelle. trying to see what it is from(car was a 6cyl before turbo 400) was told its from a vette. id tag says 78cm 31940 on passenger side of tranny says c8f338984 . any help would be appreciated

don't know the answer u'r looking for.. but is this just for info on what it might have come out of or what ??? or info on what's on the inside of it.
i ask the dumb questions..

just want to no what vehicle its from, old owner said it was from a 76vette and it was a turbo 4oo. just want to know
