Battery Cut-Off Switch

For some time, I have had a 10 milli-amp draw on the battery when my T is shut off. Not a big loss, but if I do not drive the T for a week or so, the battery will not start the engine. I pulled out all the fuses, one by one, and the draw did not go away, so it must be in an unfused circuit. I have decided that if I cannot find the draw down today, I am going to install a battery cut-off switch.

A few years ago, I bought a battery cut-off switch at Harbor Freight. I am nervous about their quality, so I checked the customer feedback, today, and it validated my suspicions. I will probably purchase another one. Any recommendations?

Well, I installed a unit similar to the HF one when I completed my build 4 years ago. It has worked flawlessly since then. I put it on the negative side of the battery.

I use the same one Spanky showed and they have always worked every time I shut it off..............Now watch the next time I try it will not work........lol.....Put it in the ground side cable too.............

Always put a single cutoff switch on negative side.

Mark, try taking the hot wire off the alternator and check for drain. They do that sometimes if the rectifier or diode trio goes bad..

Might the drain be from your stereo's built-in clock circuitry? Maybe, (if you have one), the amp is putting a drain on the battery? Electronic ignition box?
(I know, I might be reaching a bit with the ignition box.)

I have a main switch in the positive cable of my T, and turn it off every time I shut down the car. It'll work just as well in the negative side, too.

Get a battery maintainer and hook it up to the starter cable and a starter bolt and you wont have to go under the seat. Just a suggestion.

Or get a small AGM battery about the size you have now.
