Had an e-mail from Lyle, and he wrote the following:

Mom is starting to lose her mental capacities, appears dementia is setting in. She’s with me - - - then she disappears into her subconscious and into a world we have no connection to. Then just a quickly she is back and making great conversation…. L ….. tough for me to see her this way. She’s been under my wing since 1987, the deterioration saddens me as I have lost any control to the problem. I’m not a well learned mental professional, so I must depend on others for guidance and suggestions.

With a heavy heart I have enrolled her into an Assisted Living Center about 3 miles from me. I realize that her 71 year old son simply cannot take care of her properly any longer. On a good note though, she visited the facility and has had nothing but praise for “How nice it is”. A good sign for me as I think she will be quite comfortable being there, and well taken care of.

He also added how much he appreciates the thoughts and prayers of his NTBA family.
