Jan,

The above is a good option, a large thumbnail till you click on the picture. So how are those pictures posted? I use Photobucket so that my pictures are readily available for any forum. I have reduced those PB pictures to < 750kb, but when posted here they get the right side cut off.

Bob, it is the famous hot linking problem that is the issue. Since this board has a set width for posts it cuts off the right hand side. I am still trying to hack the code to get them to work for you... Jan

Jan,

Both you and someone else have posted pictures that show up small scale in their entirety, like a large thumbnail that if clicked on opens a new window at full res. That would be just fine, but I don't know how you and the other poster are doing this.

Looks like they're adding the picture as an attachment (option available below the Submit button of a new post).

As long as the picture is under 300kb, that works. My pictures haven't had that small a file size for 15 years and I sure won't be reducing them all for one forum. That is why I use PhotoBucket, but those PB pictures get the right side cut off. Here is one I reduced for this site.

Ted,
I did reduce some more to show the surrounding scenery of Carson City, home to the 2013 NATS on the NEV-CAL chapter's topic page. http://ntba.us/bb/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=412

I can work with it, but takes me twice as long to post here as it did on the old board. Size requirement is the issue. Tried to post from my phone earlier and couldn't, file size was too large. Not sure I want to even try resizing pics on my phone to upload them.

Just bugs to work on, I'm sure we'll get there.

John, from the posts I've seen here, the picture posting issue is a high priority with Jan & Ted. I can understand the 300kb limitation on uploaded files from your hard drive as I set up my forum with a simple one step process for posting pictures from your hd with no size limitations and quickly found out how 1,000's of 5mb pictures can tax your site's resources. Nothing more coin thrown at it couldn't cure though. That is why I pay for a Photobucket account (they are free if used moderately) and use it for all the forums I'm active on. Here though, those PB pictures lose the right side and they are working on that too, so be patient. To the right of my email button here is my link to my site if you want to check out a T-bucket site that is riddled with 1,000's of pictures and videos, from build documentaries to event coverage.
