A fun thing Jodie and I like to do is pack a nice picnic and head for "Chimmeys picnic area".
It is 5 miles south of Gatlinburg on 441 heading towards Cherokee.

Had good lunch at The Diner; grapes, cherries, cantaloupe, corn and Miller Lite    at store. Exploration begins tomorrow.
This part of Tennessee is gorgeous!! Thanks to the Crew here for putting this on...... :)! :)! :)! :)! :)!
Make sure you drive down the roaring fork motor nature trail. You won't be disappointed. Starts in Gatlinburg at red light #8
And when you get to the top you can shut off the engine and coast all the way down👍👍

"Chimmeys" sounds like a winner, too. OMG- - - forgot what traffic at a tourist trap is like!! The fire that was here a few months back has left it's mark on landscape. Weather man has been predicting lots of rain - - they have received none... Getting dry here according to waitress, who seems to have a better handle on weather than the weather channel. :? :? See ya next week ........

Thanks for the great tip Scooter, you were right, we were not disappointed at all. Motor Nature Trail was incredible drive. :)! :)! :)! :)! But had to use Jake Brake (low gear) coming back down... lol And now we know about the Light Numbers in Gatlinburg!!!!
Moonshiners 28 and the Cherohala Skyway is on the horizon to cap off the Devils Triangle of Tn./N.C. Anyone here want to burn up some gasoline?

We will be leaving tomorrow morn for Devils Triangle run. Only 210 miles total, but plan on making a full day out of trip.
Sorry you can't make it, was hoping to meet you here. I'll try not to have to much fun, so there will be some left for you next time you come to Tennesse.
How about the Ozarks??????
