Would you please tell me where this magical button, that is supposed to be here, is located. I'm so utterly stupid that I don't even see one. Naturally everything that you explained at dome & Angies is probably out the door.

Not a button by rather a folder leaf named "Upload attachments". Upon clicking, then you see the button "Choose File" which when clicked, brings up the contents of your computer's storage devices, i.e. hard drive, CD, thumbnail drives, etc. Fine the picture file your looking for and your in business.
