Hey Lugster, have you personally taken either your Bkt or your personal car on the ferry to Washington Island and driven around the island? If so was it fun, worth it, interesting? Some in the N.M. Bunch ( me included) are thinking real strongly about doing that very thing, early in the week. I know the island is not very big but should be fun. Also going to do the Segway tour both in the woods and in GB. We love those things! Also early in the week. 23Tzr wants to know where the Waffle House is. How far is your house out of GB?Just curious, doesn't really make a difference, I'm going to eat your food and see the famous ravine full of credit cards anyway!!!!

Larry...to answer your question, no. We have never taken the bucket out to the island. We did however rent mopeds out on the island back in 1980 while on our honeymoon. I do believe though, upon thinking back that we did take our personal car over. You'll enjoy it and i think the ferry boat takes 45 minutes to get there. The krooze up to Gil's Rock is enjoyable. Make notes of the places you'll wan to stop at either on the way back or on Thursday when we venture up to Door County.

Also going to do the Segway tour both in the woods and in GB. enjoy the Segways...I have enough trouble balancing on two feet let alone a gyroscope.

There is, THANK GOD...NO waffle houses anywhere up here!

How far is your house out of GB?Just curious. We are about 75 miles south of Green Bay. One fuel station to and from. good luck.

Hi Luggy, I was talking with a person from Green Bay, telling them I would be there in July. They said I have to try the Perch on Friday night! It's supposedly served everywhere, and a big dinner attraction. Any info on that? Bruce

To Whom were you talking to from Green Bay? Seems to me they would have told you the best place for Perch. We don't go out for fish on Friday, the only place we go for any kind of seafood is Red Lobster...sorry it's the best we can do being so far from the Gulf. I do know of one restaurant in Green Bay that supposedly is known for their perch and that would be Maricque's on the east side. The news had them on film last night and there was a very long line to get in and eat. Just about any place up here that is NOT a franchise joint is good for fish.

I will research this for y'all though and get back to you by early next week...keep an eye out here.

How far is your house out of GB?Just curious. We are about 75 miles south of Green Bay. One fuel station to and from. good luck.

Just kidding on this. We are less than 10 miles from Green Bay, although when there is 18" of snow on the ground and it's 10* out...seems much further, BUT....you are in luck as there will be NO snow on the ground in July and the temps will be well above 10*!

Alright Luggy, that sounds a lot better. 75 miles sounded like a long way to go out and back for an evening burger burn . Around 10 miles will be a piece of cake. Looking at the web cams at the ferry, they showed ice chunks floating around in the water but they are just things that Windy brought back from Antarctica. They will be melted by the time we get there.

My phone says it is 3 degrees and raining right now in Green Bay and 1 degree and snowing in Sturgeon Bay. You have got to get that weather under control son or none of the ice cream shops will have any business!

Hey Luggy, could that be a "fish boil" that those people were telling Bruce about. All the info on the internet seems to indicate that those are a big deal up in Door county.

Your phone is incorrect...it IS 5* with snow falling. Seriously, your phone reads 3* and rain? It is actually as of right now in Greenleaf, 39* but feels like 35*, supposedly going up to 44*. But we have a special weather alert happening now...snow is on the way.

As far as chucks of ice out on the bay...that is quite possible, but you will not be driving out on the bay.
