Change the password on your e-mail account. That's the easiest way to stop most of those.

I picked up that virus when it was bright and shiny new, like in the first week it was around. I did everything to kill it, but even after I deleted almost all my address book, it kept sending out spam to everyone who had ever been on my list. I even wiped my hard drive and started over.

i'm wondering if anyone is using "microsoft" anti virus and does it work ok or better up use another kind ...
i have kaspersky now and for the past yr.. its coming up for renewal and was wonder'n bout M/S freebie...
does anyone have the direct web site to m/s down load of this??? i'm sure there are fakes out there.. tks

I am now using Microsoft Security Essentials. Free, updated continually, and it's in Microsoft's interest for it to work very well.

looked at m/s and it says i need "genuine Windows 7".. i have windows 7, so is that genuine win 7 ???? the genuine part is throwing me....

If it's the operating system that came on your computer, it's genuine. They're looking for pirated copies. The program will check your computer, validate, and you'll be set up.

The instructions say to delete your current AV program before installing.
