Only 320 hp, last dyno'ed at 2010 Fred's Fun Run on Chris's dyno. But lots of torque.
New engine for winter (2013) project. Scott Shafiroff Dart block 427. Dyno'ed 526.3 HP @ 5700 rpm
556.2 lb/ft @ 4400 rpm.

I guess I was too dazzled by the appearance of your ride to notice the engine. I think your running a 700R4, which is a great choice, but tell me about the engine. Looks like your ride is the complete package, show and go.Rolla Hessel wrote:I am one of the three now

Bob, according the the engine builder we are pushing over 600 HP, but really don't know. Correct on the 700R with 4:11's in the ford 9 inch. It is definitely a hoot to drive, as you know how going fast can be fun
.. Appreciate the compliment! Will probably try to see what we have at the wheels when we get to Carson City. In reality,it doesn't matter to me, I know it is pretty friggin quick
Have a good weekend!

Compression ratio?
Redline?

383 Stroker
Not sure on Compr. Ratio
7200-7500 RPM but have never taken above about 6500.. That was plenty fast
and still plenty of torque

Re: What hp are you running?
Since no dyno sheet, don't know at what rpm your peak hp would be, but being able to spin the engine to 7200 would explain 383 cubes producing higher than a "normal" built 383 which runs 400~450 hp. Those must be expensive heads being able to flow well at that that rpm. The AFR 210 heads come to mind, fully CNC ported and about $2000, and the valve train has to be on the serious duty cycle, big lifts, massive spring tensions. Are you running solid lifters? Hydraulic lifters that can function at those rpms run $700. Now I'm curious, why didn't you go for those power levels with more cubes? A whole lot cheaper and the external appearance of you engine would be the same. If memory serves, the sbc can easily go to 472 cid with an aftermarket block like a Dart, and properly set up would generate 635 hp @ 6000 and 630 lb/ft @ 4600, so streetable, and done with cubes and not having to be built for 7500 rpm. Just a thought, but eager to hear your component selection.Rolla Hessel wrote:383 Stroker

Re: What hp are you running?
Basically went with what we had at the time and built up Bob. I have a cousin that builds Stock Car Engines and he is the creator. Solid lifters and most everythign in it was top of the line, high dollar
.. Ask my check book
.. My biggest advantage was his expertise and NO labor or machining cost involved. Have thought about a Big Block just for the look but really like the perforance if what I have. Estimates on HP are from him and honestly, I can tell you, it is must quicker than it needs to be. The cam was designed for a Tunnel Ram so we do nto get the normal TR hesitation or stumble. Ask Gordo

Re: What hp are you running?
I hope Chris brings the dyno to Carson City. For the folks that don't want to tax things, they can back out below 5000 then compare print outs with others how the numbers were up to getting out of it. I don't want to see anyone blow up their engine.
