I have a MUCH better suggestion and solution. Problem with back up lights on a trailer is where YOU are sitting....about 30 feet away from the rear of the trailer. Now I dunno about you, but when I look back there at night, the only thing I can see is the tail lights when I put my foot on the brake...yet doing that still does NOT indicate to me where in the hell I am at...because I cannot see the rear of trailer in the dark.
So you have a LONG driveway? Do you have a Home Depot there or a Lowes? Go buy some LOW voltage landscape light and place them along each side of your driveway...that way you save the hassle of wiring the dern back up lights and save on straining your neck and eyeballs because you STILL can NOT see where in the hell the sides of the driveway is located..Just don't make your driveway look like my neighbor's long side walk....looks like a dern runway.
This is merely a suggestion....
