I've heard another rumor that this event has been canceled ???

Not cancelled but revised. Here's Rolla's post on fb:

"Attention All who were planning to attend the MO fun run in Desoto This October 9-12th. IF you made previous reservations with Holiday Inn, please cancel them and there is NO penalty as this change was brought on by their corporate decision to sell the property.
Do to logistical changes at the location we had booked, we have made the decision to move this event to another location just outside of St. Louis in Collinsville IL. The dates will remain the same with arrivals by Weds. and cruises starting on Thursday thru Saturday. We have a fun event scheduled with some awesome cruises and working on a tour of WWT, World Wide Technology Raceway where they have the Nascar Oval track, a Road Course and the Drag Strip in one location. I am sure we will be able to tour the facility but are also working on getting on the track / tracks for a few parade laps. This will happen on Thursday October 9th. The other cruises will be well worth your trip in!!
We have rooms boked from Oct. 6-12 for those who may want to come to STL early, however our scheduled runs WILL not begin until Thursday, but there is plenty to do and you are only 30 minutes from downtown STL and AB Brewery.

NTBA Car Show rates will be $149.00 per night which includes a FULL Buffet breakfast daily.
We will provide more information in the upcoming weeks but wanted to give folks time to plan ahead and make room reservations. BTW, October is one of the prettiest times of the year on this region. Fall Colors will be shining through. We look forward to seeing those who can attend and hope for a great turnout!! Thanks Spanky, disappointed to see it's now an ILL event. I did intend to attend this event, but not in ILL.
